In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, this 2017.1 update for Autodesk^® Alias^™ 2017 fixes or addresses a variety of issues.

Installation and Licensing

• Alias hangs when you attempt to subscribe to products from within Alias. (ALS-1891)
• Alias hangs when you select Help > About Alias > Product License Information or from the Sign In button, choose Manage Licenses. (ALS-1748)
• The TIMEOUT licensing option does not work. (ALS-1771, ALS-1422)
• New Sign In function is not documented. (ALS-1840)

General Issues

• Alias takes a long time to start waiting for the Sign In feature load. We added an environment variable, ALIAS_DISABLE_CLIC_IPM, to disable this feature. (ALS-1852)
• The Sign In menu and License Manager dialog box shift down if the display scale is over 100% on Windows 10. (ALS-1773)
• Selecting WindowDisplay > Title Bar to hide the title bar also hides the gnomon. (ALS-1762)
• Help > Report a Problem and Help > Suggest a Feature forms do not work. They have been removed from the Help menu. Please use the Support Center and Alias Design Community links on the Help menu to report issues using Alias. (ALS-1429)
• Layer visibility is affected when toggling the Folder visibility on and off. (ALS-1906)

Modeling

• Alias crashes in the Surface Fillet tool when you set the Flow Control Interior option to Edge Align. (ALS-1896)
• Alias crashes in the Project tool when you open the tool options dialog box from a marking menu and then click the Reset button. (ALS-1796)
• Alias crashes in the Profile tool when you modify the range. (ALS-1754)
• Alias crashes in the Stitch and Seam tool when you try to select an edge. (ALS-1816)
• When working on a construction plane in orthographic view, the faces of the ViewCube, which should be highlighted green, lose the green highlighting when you drag and zoom. (ALS-1382)
• After a print preview, construction history update takes a long time. (ALS-1788)
• Alias crash when select fillet edge in Stitch and Seam command on Mac OS. (ALS-1957)

Data Transfer

• Alias does not support NX11 data. (ALS-1982, ALS-3674)
• Importing CatiaV5 data results in severe data loss, affecting G0 continuity quality. (ALS-1841)
• Data is scaled/moved when importing IGES files having different units than the current Alias file. (ALS-1929, ALS-1513)
• Degree/span information changes when importing IGES data. (ALS-1878)
• Alias fails to import some JT files when Convert Nurbs is on and Keep Topology is off. (ALS-1983, ALS-3668)
• Symmetry information is not applied to CatiaV5 layers when imported. (ALS-1887)
• Imported CatiaV5 data is corrupted. (ALS-1984, ATF-2619)
