This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this Service Pack.
It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply the Service Pack to your licensed copy of the product.
This Service Pack is for the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems.
Be sure to download and install the correct Service Pack if downloaded from the
Update and Service Packs web site.
You can also download and install this Service Pack directly from your product through the Autodesk Desktop App.
The Autodesk Desktop App is installed by default with Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2017.
Apply This Service Pack to a Standalone Installation
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on a single computer.
- Download this Service Pack and save it to any folder.
- If required, insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2017 installation disc).
- Find the folder where you saved the Service Pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Apply This Service Pack Through a Local Network
Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your local network.
- Download this Service Pack and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Find the shared folder where you saved the Service Pack, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.
Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Service Pack.

Apply This Service Pack to a Network Administrative Image (Deployment)
The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the Deployment wizard.
- Navigate to the folder where the deployment is saved.
- Open the Tools folder under the Deployment folder, and launch the “Create & modify a deployment” setup.
- Follow the Install Deployment wizard with default settings, and click Create. Then click the Add Updates button.
- In the Autodesk AppModeDeployment Updates dialog box, click UPDATES, and then the Add button to the Service Pack 1 that you want to add. Make sure the Status has changed to “Included” and the Add button becomes Remove. Then Close the dialog box.
Note: When the Service Pack is included in a deployment, the deployment will install the Service Pack.

Uninstall this Service Pack
Windows 7 / Windows 8
- From the Start menu (Windows), click Control Panel.
- Click Programs and Features.
- In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
- Find the appropriate Service Pack in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.

The following defects have been fixed in this Service Pack:
General
- A crash while launching the software using a Guest Account on Windows system has been fixed.
- The message about accessing the autoarch.err file has been removed.
- Opening damaged *.RTD files has been resolved.
- A crash while opening *.STR files created in the Tekla Structural Designer application has been removed.
- A possibility to match a Revit Family to a section from a Robot database has been added. You can do it using a new Family Type parameter which is respected during a cloud analysis in the Structural Analysis for Autodesk Revit application.

Analysis and Results
- NZS 1170.5:2004: The reduction of results during a seismic analysis has been adjusted for cases when the structural ductility factor mi is different from 1.
- The display of results on maps for curved (bent) panels has been fixed.
- The display of “--?--" rows in the tables after exporting the calculation note to Word has been resolved.
- The display of diagrams for the seismic analysis in the calculation note has been fixed.

Steel Connections Design
- Column-Beam (two-sided) connection: Help has been fixed for the Connection Definition-CM66 dialog.
- The display of images in the calculation note on the Japanese version of the operating system has been fixed.

Steel and Timber Members Design
- AS 4100-1988: The bending moments value M* for stability check for profiles with brackets has been adjusted.
- BS5950:2000: The moment capacity value Mc in the case of a simply supported beam or a cantilever has been adjusted.
- EN 1993-1-5: The value of shear for the web stability under concentrated force during a detailed analysis of a beam has been adjusted.
- EN 1993-1-5: Description of the web in plane stress for the z direction in the calculation note has been corrected.
- Composite Beam Design Extension: Problem with non-disappearing dialog in the other language versions of Robot than English has been resolved.

RC Members Design
RC Beam
- Lack of the beam verification and the incorrect AbrBr diagram due to the wrong detection of positions of reinforcement bars have been resolved.
RC Spread Footing
- PN-B-03264:2002: The verification of shear strength of a spread footing due to stress taken from the opposite side of a column has been adjusted.
