This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this productivity pack. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this productivity pack to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

There is one global installation of AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 that includes all languages. The installer will automatically match the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 language with your AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 language.

Note: It is required that you install Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Service Pack 3.1 prior to installing this productivity pack.

Autodesk® AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2016 Productivity Pack 3 consists of the following features:

  1. Traverse Editor - Create points, lines, and curves representing traverse legs and sideshots using a broad set of COGO input and editing tools. The traverse can be used to generate polylines, COGO points, and a .TRV2 traverse file. Note that this new tool provides significant improvements over the COGO Editor that was included in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 1.
  2. Traverse Adjustment - Perform traverse adjustment and generate reports using Compass, Transit, Crandall, and Grant Line adjustment methods. Update COGO points and traverse geometry within the drawing.
  3. Subassemblies – A new library of subassemblies is included that you can integrate into your projects. All of this content was created in Autodesk Subassembly Composer and can be edited and expanded to meet your individual or organizational needs. Not that there are separate metric and imperial libraries and detailed Help that you can access to learn about the behavior of each subassembly.

As you prepare to install this productivity pack, keep the following in mind:

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this productivity pack.

Administrative Privileges

During installation or uninstallation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this productivity pack, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.

Network Deployment

Administrators can deploy this productivity pack over a network using the Deployment Wizard.

Close the Application

When you are installing this productivity pack, a prompt with options to "Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete" or "Ignore" may be displayed. It is required that you close AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2016 before proceeding with the installation of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1.

Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

About Your Product

After you install, product information is displayed in the About dialog box.

Apply This Productivity Pack to a Stand-Alone Installation

This productivity pack can be installed using the Autodesk® Desktop App or via download.

The Autodesk Desktop App is installed with all Autodesk applications and provides you with the ability to get alerts on software updates without disrupting your workflow. This is the easiest way to add AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 to your AutoCAD Civil 3D installation.

You can download the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 installation from accounts.autodesk.com.

  1. Log in to accounts.autodesk.com.
  2. Select AutoCAD Civil 3D in the list of products and select AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 from the list of Updates and Add-ons.
  3. Download the productivity pack and save it to any folder.
  4. Close all running Autodesk applications.
  5. Find the folder where you saved the productivity pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Apply This Productivity Pack Through a Local Network

Follow these instructions to install this productivity pack on multiple computers using your local network.

  1. Log in to accounts.autodesk.com.
  2. Select AutoCAD® Civil 3D® in the list of products and select AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 from the list of Updates and Add-ons.
  3. Download the productivity pack and save it to any folder on your local network.
  4. Find the shared folder where you saved the productivity pack, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Apply This Productivity Pack to a Network Administrative Image

The following method of distributing AutoCAD® Civil 3D 2016® Productivity Pack 3.1 applies only to administrative images created with the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Network Installation wizard. After you complete this procedure, any new deployments of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 will have the update applied to them automatically. For complete information on updating a Network Administrative Image please see the Autodesk Installation Administrator's Guide.

To apply the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 to an existing AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 administrative image:

  1. Log in to accounts.autodesk.com.
  2. Select AutoCAD Civil 3D in the list of products and select AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 from the list of Updates and Add-ons.
  3. Download the productivity pack and save it to any folder on your local network.
  4. Close all running Autodesk applications.
  5. On the workstation where you initially created the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 deployment, open the Tools folder and double-click the Create & Modify a deployment shortcut icon.
  6. Follow the wizard to the product configuration screen and expand the Include additional software accordion.
  7. In the Additional Software section, click Add and browse to the location you saved the productivity pack.
  8. Collapse the Include additional software accordion and click the Create button.

Now any new deployments of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 will have the productivity pack applied to them automatically.

Uninstall This Productivity Pack

Follow these instructions to uninstall this productivity pack on a single computer.

  1. Insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
  2. In Windows Control Panel select Programs and Features.
  3. Right-click on Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3.1 and choose Uninstall.
