MAXX-38951

Users who installed both the 3ds Max Interactive DCC link and 3DConnexion's plugin bundle (package) were not able to use 3ds Max Interactive's DCC link.

MAXX-38886

Core, UI

Memory access violation on shutdown when using QStringLiteral resolved.

MAXX-38167

Core

Users with 2 or more versions of an Autodesk App Store bundle (package) definition file may have experienced a crash when starting 3ds Max 2018 and not have been able to submit a Customer Error Report (CER). This issue could be activated by any plugin bundle from the Autodesk App Store, but users of 3ds Max Interactive DCC link seemed most affected. For more information, see DCC Link, 3ds Max Interactive Issues on the forums.

Known Issues and Workarounds

The following list describes known issues in this release.

Component

Description

MAXX-38708

Fluids

The SimCache folder can be deleted during the simulation. The folder is recreated and continues to generate files from the last deleted frame.

MAXX-37856

Fluids

Using Ctrl+Z to undo actions in the Fluid dialog does not work. Workaround: Use the Undo button on the toolbar/main menu.

MAXX-37632

Fluids

Adding a modifier or space warp to a liquid object causes it to disappear from the viewports when displayed as points. It does not prevent the liquid object from functioning.

MAXX-38137

Fluids

When the Expansion Rate is set too low there isn't enough pressure to add more liquid. To fill the volume, increase the Expansion Rate.

MAXX-38811

Fluids

Scrubbing the timeline with both liquid and foam set to Arnold Surface causes an offset duplicate mesh. If this occurs, close and reopen the ActiveShade window.

MAXX-39034

Fluids

If simulating a liquid without foam, the render will fail when using Arnold. To prevent this from occuring, set the Foam Rendering to None when not rendering foam.

MAXX-38709

Fluids

Crashes when rendering with ART (ActiveShade and in production). ART is not a recommended renderer, instead use Arnold.

MAXX-37993

Fluids

A crash may occur when solving with Delete Exceeding Particles not selected. If this happens, reload your scene and resume the simulation where it left off.

Customer Error Reports

We can improve the stability of Autodesk 3ds Max largely because of the Customer Error Reports (CERs) you submit. By including as much information as possible about what actions you were performing when the error occurred, you increase the report's value immensely. Thank you very much for taking the time, we really appreciate it.
