Autodesk FeatureCAM 2018.1.0 Update Readme
Autodesk, Inc.
In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, this update addresses issues pertaining to the release and adds some minor enhancements. This readme contains information about the changes contained in this update.
Import
- Import functionality which was previously provided by a third-party vendor has been replaced with Autodesk technology that is widely used across the Autodesk product portfolio. This change will ultimately give us the ability to deliver more translator functionality, and to produce updates more quickly. While every effort has been made to ensure that all files that could previously be imported to FeatureCAM will still import in the same way, there are some limits to the replacement functionality as follows:
DWG/DXF Import
- Fix a bug in which a curve imported from DXF into FeatureCAM and then exported resulted in an unreasonable file size.
- Fix a problem with importing some solids stored in proxy entities.
- Improve the ability to import DWG and DXF files with invalid data.
Turning
- Fix a bug for turned face grooves in which there was no side lift off for the first pass.
- Fix a bug in which the endpoints defined by the system violated the profile when connecting to the finishing operation.
Milling
- Fix a bug in which entering a zero or negative plunge clearance did not work correctly in combination with the Retract to Z Rapid option.
- Fix a crash which sometimes occurred when setting the total stock.
Toolpath Edit
- Fix a crash which could occur when adding a toolpath segment to an existing toolpath edit feature.
User Interface
- Fix a crash which sometimes occurred when trying to close and empty document.
- Fix a bug in which the “Information” screen on the backstage (File) view was not storing and displaying values correctly.
- Remove an incorrect popup message about the Getting Started Guide.
- Fix a delay in updating the selection of a setup in the part view and the ribbon.
- Fix a bug in which creating toolpath edit features from the ribbon did not allow selection of milling or turning type. (Two buttons are provided now.)
- Fix a bug with the “Finish” and “Finish and Edit” options when editing feature properties.
- Allow expanding and collapsing patterns and groups in the part view to make the tree easier to read.
- Fix a bug in which Feature dropdown buttons on the ribbon did not remember the last used item.
- Add translations for dialogs involved with customer error reports so that these dialogs now appear in the local language.
Licensing / Installer
- Fix uninstaller to remove a few files that were not being deleted.
- Consolidate behavior for trial mode so that it is the same regardless of how the trial was launched.
Posting
- Fix a bug in which NC code for a milling document couldn’t be saved after posting with a Swiss post.
- Fix a crash that could occur if the requested post (.cnc file) did not exist and add an error message to notify the user.
- Fix a crash that could occur when browsing to find a post (.cnc file).
- Fix a bug in which the “Edit in Text Editor” function in Xbuild did not work for Wire EDM posts.
- Fix a bug in which the “Split rotary moves” checkbox in Xbuild applied (incorrectly) to turning moves rather than only rotary moves.
- Improve the interaction with the multi-channel editor by communicating the number of channels from FeatureCAM.
Addins
- *Fix a bug in the multi-channel html viewer addin so that wait codes with a common prefix a identified as separate wait codes (e.g. Wait2 and Wait20).
- Fix a crash in the Setup Sheet addin which occurred if a setup contained a part ejector feature.
