You can apply this extension to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct extension for your software.

The Autodesk^® MicroDrainage Utility provides the ability for Autodesk^® Civil 3D^® Pipe Networks to be renamed and exported to MDX/SWS/FWS format for analysis within the MicroDrainage System 1 drainage design module and then imported to update the pipe network in Autodesk Civil 3D to create a 3D model of drainage network as well as product plans, sections and pipe and structure schedules.

Changes to the Autodesk Microdrainage Utility for 2019

• Import/Export support for .MDX format files
• Improved export capabilities including ability to exclude “Null Structures”
• Ability to update a pipe network that already exists in Autodesk Civil 3D. This enables an iterative workflow where a user can analyze a network in Microdrainage and then update their network in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Resolution of high-priority issues (e.g., “Part Family Not Recognized” error)

Note: The export is a clean file of the pipe network only. The more recent versions of the MicroDrainage System 1 drainage design module also still support this core format.

As you prepare to install this extension, keep the following in mind:

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this extension.

Administrative Privileges

During installation or uninstallation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this extension, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.

Network Deployment

Administrators can deploy this extension over a network using the Deployment Wizard.

Close the Application

It is required that you close Autodesk^® Civil 3D^® 2019 before proceeding with the installation of this extension.

Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

About Your Product

After you install, product information is displayed in the About dialog box.

Follow these instructions to install this extension on a single computer.

1. Download the extension and save it to any folder.
2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
3. Find the folder where you saved the extension and double-click the executable (.msi) file.

The following method of distributing the Autodesk^® MicroDrainage Utility 2019 applies only to administrative images created with the Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 Network Installation wizard. After you complete this procedure, any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 will have the extension applied to them automatically. For complete information on creating and updating a Network Administrative Image please see the Autodesk Installation Administrator's Guide.

To apply the Autodesk MicroDrainage Utility 2019 to an existing Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 administrative image:

1. Download this extension and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
3. On the workstation where you initially created the Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 deployment, open the Tools folder and double-click the Create & Modify a deployment shortcut icon.
4. Follow the wizard to the product configuration screen and expand the Include additional software accordion.
5. In the Additional Software section, click Add and browse to the location you saved the extension.
6. Collapse the Include additional software accordion and click the Create button.

Now any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2019 will have the extension applied to them automatically.

This extension can be uninstalled through the Program and Features section of the Microsoft® Windows® Control Panel.

Follow these instructions to uninstall this extension on a single computer.

1. Insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk Civil 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
2. In Windows Control Panel > Program and Features, click on the Autodesk Microdrainage Utility 2019 and choose the Uninstall option.
3. In the Autodesk Microdrainage Utility 2019 maintenance dialog box click Yes to confirm that you want to uninstall the extension.
