Thank you for downloading the Autodesk® SHP Import/Export Utility 2020.1 for Civil 3D®.
These release notes contain the latest information regarding the installation and
use of this utility. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire
document before you install this utility. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.
Contents
You can apply this extension to the following Autodesk products running on all
supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct
extension for your software.
You can also use the Autodesk Desktop App to install the utility, which will automatically show the correct utility for your product. It is recommended that you have the latest available update to Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 applied before installing this utility.

The following issues have been resolved in the Autodesk® SHP Import/Export Utility 2020.1 Update:
- Fixed an issue where regex expressions used "wild card" instead of "contains".
- Fixed an issue where the wrong latitude and longitude values were displayed when exporting COGO points to SHP.
- Fixed an issue where property set rollover tooltips did not report feature line data.
- Fixed an issue where AUDIT produced eWrongDatabase errors after using the XREFCOPY command.
- Fixed an issue where Civil 3D would close unexpectedly when selecting a second feature line while using the XREFCopy command.
- Fixed an issue where the XREFCopy command did not increment the name of a copied feature line and instead failed and left a polyline in its place.
- Fixed an issue where Civil 3D closed unexpectedly when selecting any imported record in the SHP Data Manager palette with no drawing open.
- Fixed an issue in the query dialog boxes where the delete row button produced inconsistent results.
- Fixed an issue where queries would not allow the use of the same property set field in the same query.
- Fixed an issue where SHP queries and SHP import settings were not displayed in existing 2016 drawings.
- Fixed an issue where trimming lines or feature lines at a boundary resulted in the name being purged from the remaining segments.
- Fixed an issue where the Trim Feature Lines at Boundary command trimmed the incorrect portions of a feature line.

As you prepare to install this utility, keep the following in mind:
Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this utility.
Administrative Privileges
To apply this utility, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products. During installation or uninstallation, you may be
prompted for the original installation media or a network image.
Network Deployment
Administrators can deploy this utility
over a network using the Deployment wizard.
Close the Application
It is required that you close Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 before proceeding with the installation of this utility.
Reboot
After you install, it is recommended that you reboot your system even if not prompted.

Apply This Utility to a Stand-Alone Installation
Follow these instructions to install this utility on a single
computer.
- Download the utility and save it to any folder.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- Find the folder where you saved the utility and double-click the
executable (.msi) file.

Apply This Utility Through a Local Network
Follow these instructions to install this utility on multiple computers using your local network.
- Download this utility and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- Find the shared folder where you saved the utility and double-click the executable (.msi) file.

Apply This Utility to a Network Administrative Image
The following method of distributing this utility applies only to administrative images created with the Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 Network Installation wizard. After you complete this procedure, any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 will have the utility applied to them automatically. For information on creating and updating a Network Administrative Image, please see the Autodesk Installation Administrator's Guide.
To apply the utility to an existing Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 administrative image:
- Download this utility and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- On the workstation where you initially created the Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 deployment, open the Tools folder and double-click the Create & Modify a Deployment shortcut icon.
- Follow the wizard to the product configuration screen and expand the Include additional software accordion.
- In the Additional Software section, click Add and browse to the location where you saved the utility.
- Collapse the Include additional software accordion and click the Create button.
Now any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 will have the utility applied to them automatically.

This extension can be uninstalled through the Program and Features section of the Microsoft® Windows® Control Panel.
Follow these instructions to uninstall this extension on a single computer.
- Make sure the installation source files are available.
- In Windows Control Panel > Program and Features, click on the Autodesk SHP Import/Export Utility 2020.1 and choose the Uninstall option.
- In the Autodesk SHP Import/Export Utility 2020.1 maintenance dialog box click Yes to confirm that you want to uninstall the extension.
