Thank you for installing AutoCAD®/AutoCAD LT for Mac®2021.1 Update
The 2021.1 Update fixes compatibility issues with macOS Big Sur. It also improves user experience and overall stability of the product. This update is recommended for all users. Please read the entire document before you apply the update to your product. For reference, please save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.
The 2021.0.1 Hotfix is included in this update.
Contents
Drafting
- Recent Input is now available on the shortcut menu.
AutoLisp Debugger
- Enhancements include project management, support for extension level debug configurations, and easier LSP file loading.

macOS Big Sur Compatibility
- UI layout problems in some palettes and dialogs.
- UI string misaligned in some dropdown menus and popup lists.
- DWG preview shows upside-down in Finder.
- The horizontal toolbar color displays incorrectly.
- System alert to grant access to some folder sometimes won't show up when opening a drawing with xrefs.
- Occasional hangs when using Lisp Debugger.(Not available in LT)
Drafting
- Occasional crashes when trim multiple objects.
- Occasional crashes after edit scale list.
- Occasional crashes when editing a drawing with tables.
- Occasional crashes when editing a drawing with a lot of TrueType texts.
Blocks
- Occasional short freezes when working in the block palette.
- Occasional crashes when cancel in the delete block alert.
- When using the -INSERT command with the Repeat Placement option, pressing Enter or the Spacebar now ends the command.
- Occasional crashes when confirm attributes after inserting a block.
Install
- AutoCAD Install constantly fails in a special situation.
Plot
- Some full bleed paper sizes now available when printer set to None.
Quick Measure
- Highlight color displays incorrectly when measure multiple areas.
- The highlighted area using the Quick Measure option is now stable under custom UCS.
- Improved performance when using Quick Measure in drawings with a lot of xrefs or TrueType texts.
Xref
- Clicking on the notification to reload changed xrefs will not reload xrefs with unload status.
- Improved performance when opening external references with XLOADCTL system variable set to 2.
- Xref compare not working well in German and French version.
Others
- Occasional crashes when open drawings.
- Occasional crashes when search in Application Preferences dialog.

The 2021.1 Update can be installed over the official release of AutoCAD(AutoCAD LT) 2021 for Mac and AutoCAD(AutoCAD LT) 2021.0.1 for Mac.
To install 2021.1 Update, do the following:
- Close all Autodesk applications before you begin to install the update.
- Double-click AutoCAD_Mac_2021.1_Update_Combo.dmg(AutoCAD_LT_Mac_2021.1_Update_Combo.dmg) to mount the volume.
- Double-click AutoCAD_Mac_2021.1_Update_Combo.pkg(AutoCAD_LT_2021.1_Update_Combo.pkg) in the new mounted volume to run the installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- The version can be checked in menu AutoCAD 2021(AutoCAD LT 2021) > select About AutoCAD(AutoCAD LT), you should see "AutoCAD 2021.1"("AutoCAD LT 2021.1") label.

This update replaces files from the original installation of AutoCAD for Mac and cannot be uninstalled separately.
To uninstall the full product, do the following:
- Quit AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT for Mac.
- In Finder, navigate to /Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2021 and double-click Remove AutoCAD 2021 app. For LT, navigate to /Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD LT 2021 and double-click Remove AutoCAD LT 2021 app.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
