The SHP Import and Export Plug-in for Autodesk Civil 3D provides users with the ability to exchange linear strings and COGO points with other systems that support creation and reading of SHP format files. This Plug-in is unique in that users can control the resulting Civil 3D object appearance, style, point groups, etc. resulting in the streamlined creation of production drawings. The Plug-in also adds property set data to imported objects resulting in a more intelligent Civil 3D model. Finally, users will benefit from a collection of general productivity enhancements that can apply to all user types and segments.

As you prepare to install this Plug-in, keep the following in mind:

Previous Versions of this Extension

It is required to uninstall the any previous versions of the SHP Import and Export Plug-in before installing this extension.

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this extension.

Administrative Privileges

During installation or uninstallation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this extension, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.

Close the Application

It is required that you close Autodesk^® Civil 3D^® 2026 before proceeding with the installation of this extension.

Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

About Your Product

After you install, product information is displayed in the About dialog box.

Follow these instructions to install this Plug-in on a single computer.

1. Download the Plug-in and save it to any folder.
2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
3. Find the folder where you saved the Plug-in and double-click the executable (.exe) file.

This extension can be uninstalled through the Program and Features section of the Microsoft® Windows® Control Panel.

Follow these instructions to uninstall this extension on a single computer.

1. IIn the Windows "Apps and Features" menu, click on the Autodesk SHP Import and Export Plug-in 2026 and choose the Uninstall option.
2. In the Autodesk SHP Import and Export Plug-in 2026 maintenance dialog box click Yes to confirm that you want to uninstall the extension.
