You can apply this update to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages:

The following issues have been resolved in the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016.0.5 Update:

• Civil 3D no longer closes unexpectedly drawing a circle using a some linetypes.
• An issue has been resolved that resulted in annotations along parcel segments to be created incorrectly.
• As issue that resulted in lines to display inconsistently after using the REGEN or REGENALL command has been resolved.
• An issue where linetypes are not scaled as expected when an alignment mask is used has been resolved.
• When importing an expression into a drawing, and issue where the expression is not updated if the expression already exists in the destination has been resolved.
• An issue where the <[Source Object Name]> label property would display point numbers instead of point names for projection labels on section views has been resolved.
• An issue with the curb inlet calculation in sag in Hydraflow Storm Sewers and Hydraflow Express has been resolved.

As you prepare to install this update, keep the following in mind:

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this update.

Administrative Privileges

During installation or uninstallation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this update, you must have privileges to install and uninstall products.

Network Deployment

Administrators can deploy this update over a network using the Deployment Wizard.

Close the Application

When you are installing this update, a prompt with options to "Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete" or "Ignore" may be displayed. It is required that you close Autodesk^® AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^® 2016 before proceeding with the installation of the Autodesk^® AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^® 2016.0.5 Update.

Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

Follow these instructions to install this update on a single computer.

1. Download the update and save it to any folder.
2. Close all running Autodesk applications.
3. Find the folder where you saved the update and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Note: You can also use Autodesk Application Manager to install the Live Update Maintenance Patches, which will automatically show the correct Hotfix or Update for your product.

Follow these instructions to install this update on multiple computers using your local network.

1. Download this update and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
2. Find the shared folder where you saved the update, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this update.

The following method of distributing Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016.0.5 Update applies only to administrative images created with the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 Network Installation wizard. After you complete this procedure, any new deployments of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 will have the update applied to them automatically. For complete information on updating a Network Administrative Image please see the Autodesk Installation Administrator's Guide.

To apply Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016.0.5 Update to an existing Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 administrative image:

1. On the workstation where you initially created the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 deployment, open the Tools\ApplyUpdates folder and double-click the Update - [deployment name] shortcut icon.
2. On the Updates tab on Application Manager, select Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016.0.5 Update and click Add, then close the Application Manager.

Now any new deployments of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 will have the update applied to them automatically.

Due to an issue with the Microsoft^® Windows^® operating system, the uninstall process may take longer than expected. For example, you may wait for several hours before the update is uninstalled. It is recommended to have the original installation source files for the uninstall to be successful. If the source files are unavailable, installing the following Microsoft hotfix prior to uninstalling the update will prevent the delay:

The removal of an update takes longer than expected in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

Follow these instructions to uninstall this update on a single computer.

1. Insert the product media (for example, the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D installation disc) or make sure the installation source files are available.
2. In Windows Control Panel > Uninstall a Program, select View Installed Updates.
3. Under the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 heading, right-click on Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016.0.5 Update and choose Uninstall.

It is not possible to uninstall the update if the installation source is a network administrative image with 2016.0.5 Update merged.
